Consider it a legacy from Joanne, but I absolutely love to read. Books, back of cereal boxes, directions on hair products, and warning labels on Advil. It's a passion of mine to be knowledgeable about anything I can possibly get my hands on, or rather, anything I can read about. I am sure that this is why I love the internet. You have access to learn about anything and it's usually where I find out about things such as the network set-up on the wireless adapter. And an online dictionary. And the weather channel. And useless sites like mycathatesyou.com. Get my drift?
Anyway...I did want to use my blog as a means to talk about books that I'm reading. But as I finished my last book, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, by Mark Haddon, it left me a little empty with its story. So I cannot even start a book review on this because it didn't affect me in a way that I can write about. I admired Mark Haddon's storytelling in the autistic character's voice, but some of the story was hard for me to get through, especially during the past few weeks. I think I needed more fluff instead of meaty writing to chew on. Would I recommend this book? No.
But all is not lost in my book reading adventures. Thanks to Barb at work, she's loaned me This Body: A Novel of Reincarnation, by Laurel Doud, which I'm going to look forward to getting my teeth into this evening.
So please check out my sidebar, it will have my current book I'm reading, fluff or otherwise, with a link to Amazon.com.
