Took the day off from work today as I've got those beginning of the year things I needed to get done.
I was SO productive on my day off, it literally will make your head spin:
1. Out of the house by 7:40am (after I made coffee & ate my oatmeal for breakfast), to have a meeting with an attorney about a consultation.
2. Hit Sephora & Saks Fifth Avenue for my makeup supplies. Why is it that you seem to run out of everything at once? I needed base, lipliner, eye liner, and eye shadow. $80 later....
3. Went to Bank of America to change my Traditional IRA to a Roth IRA. Which, I will be taxed on the whole thing since it's a change in IRA's. Ergh. Well, it's not enough to worry about - plus - 2005 will have a higher itemized deduction from a full year of mortage payment interest and property taxes. Also upped my "donation" to my money market account. It's how I avoided escrow.
4. Went to Office Depot to buy an expanding file for my 2004 "stuff". Out with the old year, in with the new year...
5. On to the Post Office to mail a package to my niece that had a gift from Joanne to my niece's boyfriend. Thank goodness for Priority Mail.
6. Cleaners. (I hate this one the most. I perversely believe that women are treated unequally in this area and pay 3 times more than men do.) 3 shirts, 5 pants, & 1 skirt later....and I'm sure the cleaning lady was wondering what exactly I was wearing to work (JEANS LADY!)
And all this before noon. Home for lunch....
7. Off to Lowe's because my master bath commode wouldn't stop running. Appeared that my lift chain was broken. However was I going to fix this one?!? Went to Lowe's, played stupid woman doing home repairs, and a nice gentleman explained (slowly) what I would need. Walked out with commode accoutrements...only $3 in expenditures!
Came home and fixed my commode! Ms. Fixit to the rescue. It's such a long way across the house in the morning to the second bathroom.
8. Took Oscar to the vet. Needed to establish a local veterinarian and just get a cursory once-over. Also bought flea medicine.....$120 later....(Adrienne gets makeup, Oscar gets flea-be-gone.)
9. Off to HEB for grocery shopping. And I thought it would be less crowded before 5pm? It's worse. It's when people pick up their kids from school and go grocery shopping before they get home. Mental note....
10. Had a recipe for my crockpot and put all my ingredients together to make a bean/barley chili. Letting it simmer on High for 3.5 hours.....
Now all that is left to do is read my People Magazine & Women's Day that I bought as a treat to myself for being so productive.
