A Blonde Moment

(To my blondie friends, you know I mean that in the best way possible!)

I took off work today to get those things done that you cannot do outside of work. I headed back to Gatesville (first time since the funeral) to do taxes, beneficiary, and car stuff. And the car stuff was pretty important today, I wanted to get my oil changed, get the tires rotated, and fix the cracked windshield. (Remember that blog when I didn't think it could get any worse?) So, I set everything up with the Gatesville dealership to get it all taken care of. Those guys in the Service Dept. are the reason I drive 90 miles to get my car serviced. It's worth it after the experience I've had with the Austin dealerships (I have extended warranty as well as a SmartCare option for my vehicle maintenance so I could go anywhere I wanted.)

And I'm waiting patiently in the waiting room getting that small town experience of seeing no less than 3 people that I know while I'm there. And Jesse, the Asst. Service Mgr comes in to ask me about my windshield. And he asks, "Did you happen to talk to your Insurance Company about the cracked windshield?" And me...."HUH? Insurance Company? Well....since the last time I had to get the windshield replaced was in South Carolina, they may do things a bit differently than Texas."

uh....how about I did remember later discussing this with my SC insurance agent and getting advised what I needed to do. Good grief. This so UNLIKE me. Needless to say, my windshield didn't get fixed today. And won't until I call my insurance company. Which, since I have until December before the car gets inspected again, may not happen any time soon.

And today was such a good day to get this done and taken care of.
