S'ghetti

Let's Blog about food, shall we?

So my email today from Landa, my college roommate of 3 1/2 years:
Subject: Been Thinking
I think of you often but mostly one specific time of the week. Spaghetti night. It used to drive me crazy when you would cut yours up with your knife and I could never understand. I figured it was just another thing people do in other parts. I just didn't understand and until one day it hit me. When I had kids. I would chop it up in little pieces for them and then wow it was even easier for me to it so know I do mine as well! THANKS A LOT! It's amazing the little things that people do in life that makes an impact on yours.

This cracked me up. Doesn't everyone cut up their spaghetti in small-bite sized, inhalable pieces? I know that I'm usually starvin'-Marvin by the time I'm eating so I'm vaccuming the food off my plate. I've just always cut up my spaghetti pasta, rather than being oh-so-culinary by twirling it around a fork. It just never works out right. Either too much, or not enough ends up on the fork.

If only I could make that comment about the things people do in life that make an impact on yours. I could spend an entire day on this comment. Landa taught me how to parallel park. Drink Miller Lite. Drink A LOT of Miller Lite. Drive home better drunk. Pee holding on to the back bumper. Drive (over) 100 miles an hour on Hwy 77 before Crockett, TX in a really shitty Camaro rental. Drink in Louisiania and we weren't yet 21. Play chandeliers. Share closets. Never share boyfriends. Have a sister to love. Have a great friend for 17+ years.
