Whenever we get a "cold snap" in TX, I always remember my time in Charlotte when it snowed in 2000. I mostly remember the fact that the city shut down for 3 days and I had no friends and was absolutely bored out of my gourd during that time. I also got burnt out on soup that year as well.
But it was really cold for quite a while. Like, high in the 30's cold. Weeks on end. And when the weather got back into 50 degrees, it was almost sweltering. Never thought as a Texan I'd ever think that.
So this week, when the "Arctic front" came down to bite us, and it's been in the high 50's, low 30's, I've been huddled up under my Mexican Tijuana wool blanket (because I come from far far away, Sweet T gets that one!) just grateful that I'm not housebound under a few feet of snow!

The only thing I notice when a cold snap hits is that the line for Starbucks gets rediculously out of hand.. Sigh.
