So I'm vrooming off in my Chevrolet Malibu Classic rent-a-car, and I'm on the main strip in Herndon at a light, casually waiting for the red light to turn green so I can zip onto the TOLL ROAD like I live here all my life. When a car honks beside me. And I'm checking out the things that might be wrong: do I have something on the top of the car? Do I have a flat? Am I sticking something out a car door unknowningly? When I look over my left shoulder and this girl has her window down and is waving at me. When I roll down my windown, she leans over and asks me if this is the route to Sterling, VA. Huh? Where? All I know is how to get from Point A to Point B (Alexandria to Herndon). I have to tell her that "I'm not from around these parts" and I'm on my way to the airport to fly away home to TX.
She looked real disappointed that she was asking another clueless girl directions. She thought I must have been a local. Yeah, right.
