Our nation's capital and things that make my brain go OUCH!

I just got back from Washington, DC where I went to training class for my government accounting software called Deltek.

Before you roll your eyes in boredom, let me just tell you that I sat in my Dataport class in utter fascination. DataPort allows you to run query reports on data in our Deltek software in order to know about new and different ways this data can be analyzed. Costs, revenue, and anything else in between can be obtained in an orderly fashion because you know numbers just don't lie. And we need to know where the profit and the cash flow is! And for an accountant to "think" like a programmer, just pinches my brain. It was like word problems in Math, and it was HARD.

I stayed with Laurel during my brief stint in DC. And while her her new house is utterly adorable, I never once got to see it in daylight. I arrived every day at night, and left at dawn (practically) for the 40 minute commute from Alexandria, VA to Herndon, VA. I even took the TOLL ROAD! All by myself! And never once got lost. It's a DC record for me. I also have to give a shout-out to Alamo car rental - due to technical difficulties in checking me in, I upgraded to a mid-size: Chevrolet Malibu Classic. Such a SWEET ride on the toll road!

Sadly, I did not to see any memorials or shop at Dupont Circle. Maybe another time. But actually, it's Laurel's turn to come visit me and stay in MY new house!
