Parental Demands

Joanne has pneumonia. I've been calling every few days to check on her. When I last talked to her, she felt awful, and she was sure that she would feel better the next day, if not after that following weekend. I disagreed, but hey, I've never had pneumonia. And I'm not 75 years old. Whatever do I know?

Anyway, got a cryptic message on my phone at 2pm. She actually resorted to the last means possible and called my cell. I didn't know I had missed the call until I was leaving work at 5pm. I called back (fearing only the worst) and she said that she had been feeling really sick and wanted to see me. So with no thought whatsoever, I agreed to go to Gatesville. It's kind of weird, this parental demand. But remember, I'm the perfect child (Cash is the golden child) and I do what is expected of me. So, we'll see what is really going on when I get there.

Family drama. It's the best.
