How HOT is it?

James & I visited George & Allison today to deliver boxes for them to pack their house in. They have decided to make a life changing decision that will take them to Anchorage, Alaska for a few months before they finally figure out just what in the hell they want to do when they grow up.

Allison is a good cook, loves to entertain and have people over. So today, she had brisket on the grill and by the time we showed up, it was ready to be sliced and eaten. George is from Iowa and had some BBQ sauce from a place in Des Moines. And since both James & I were both intrigued by it, Allison provided us with some REALLY HOT sauce. And warned me that a toothpick size would be more than enough. So I tried some. And damn if she wasn't right. It was the hottest sauce I'd ever eaten - my mouth burned, my throat ached, and I drank a whole beer, water, and another slice of bread hoping to turn the flames of hell down to a dull roar. It's truly the hottest thing I've ever eaten.

So check out Big Daddy's BBQ in Des Moines, IA. And let me know if you try any. www.bigdaddysbbq.net Oh yeah, the sauce I tried was called "Are you a survivor?" Um, that would be a yes.
