Victory is Sweet

So this past week has been sleep-deprived. Wednesday night, Rat Fink kept me awake no less than 3 different times. The first, I heard a rat trap snap in the kitchen. Upon investigation, he had escaped. And around 2:00 am, I investigated the noise in the kitchen, and he was perched on the windowsill and when I turned on the lights, he flew off the sill back behind the refrigerator. And the final 4:24 am showing, was when I heard scuffling behind the washer and dryer. Convinced that I needed to pull out the dryer for Oscar to have access, Rat Fink ran back out and back across the house. Yes, both sightings had me screaming like a little girl. And where is Oscar? Hiding disgustedly in the second bathroom. Worthless cat.

So James promised that this weekend would be one of death and destruction for Rat Fink. So he brought his arsenal, and laid "bombs" out in the kitchen (several traps) for Rat Fink to hit. So I have a trap back behind the washer and dryer, beside the refrigerator, and under the sink. We are prepared and ready for battle.

And at 3am this morning, I heard a SNAP. So I investigated and found out that a trap was released behind the washer and dryer. And positive that Rat Fink had escaped again, I forced James out of a deep slumber to investigate. Because I just knew that if I pulled out the dryer again to reset the trap that Rat Fink would dash across the house again and the pursuit would start all over again.

But as James investigated, RAT FINK IS DEAD. The trap behind the dryer finally become a good solid investment. And James' little ditty this morning as he played the Grim Reaper:

"The rat is dead, the rat is dead. He tried to eat some peanut butter, but it snapped his head."

No, I did not take a photo of the deceased.
