So I realized it's been a while since I've done a book review on my blog. Trust me. I've been doing some reading.
I read the first 3 of Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum Books:
One For the Money, Two for the Dough, Three to Get Deadly
Loved the Stephanie Plum character. It's been a while since I've read a book for the entertainment value and actually LAUGHED. I can't wait to hurry up and finish my "to be read" books so I can start on the next one in the series.
Then, I finished the Princess trilogy:
Princess Sultana's Daughters, Princess Sultana's Circle
I received these as a recommendation from one of my DC co-workers. I was sad to actually send these books back as it was like sending a friend back. I enjoyed the Princess Sultana books as they were about women's issues in Muslim Saudi Arabia. I loved her for being human: imperfect, judgmental, loving, caring, and concerned. She ran the gamut of all emotions regarding injustice and the ability to make a difference.
And then, I received from Kristen as a recommendation Angels & Demons. I absolutely enjoyed this book. I liked it better than The Da Vinci Code, which I thought became a little derailed in implausibility. Dan Brown's first book, even though a bit outlandish, was steeped more with historical information. Plus, I really like the main character, Robert Langdon. He seemed like a plausible person to me, even if the events were a bit wild. So, for the storytelling, this book was great.
So there - I'm all caught up. Now for me to just figure out which book to read next. Keep me posted for any of your recommendations.
