I dig The Brini Maxwell Show on the Style network. Brini is the "anti-Martha", and I like that. A lot. Brini has a little bit kitsch with class, style with savvy, and just a hint of sarcastic wit flavored with actual good ideas.
So, just imagine my shock and awe today when I found out that she was the Mistress of Ceremonies at this weekend's downtown Gay Pride Block Party. For whatever for? I ask - and the response was....Because Brini is a man!
After I stopped laughing hysterically, I admitted that it never crossed my mind to think about Brini's statuesqueness. Because I have an aunt who looks just like Brini! So my usually adept recognition of a drag queen apparently wasn't so adept. Back to the drawing board, or at least back to paying better attention to those statuesque style divas!
