Fever Pitch

I HEART Jimmy Fallon. I am attracted to dorky, funny guys. When he was on SNL, I crushed on him big time. He's just so endearingly cute!

So, which may be a large reason I liked Fever Pitch. It was my Saturday night chick flick, and I immensely enjoyed it. It stars Fallon & Drew Barrymore, who is an awesome chick in her own right, however, Drew didn't have one good hairstyle I liked in this whole movie. They are thirty, unmarried, and each wonder why the other has "held out" this long. Well, she works a lot, and he's an avid Boston Red Sox fan. Avid is an understatement. It's your basic love story, boy & girl meet, have troubles, resolve them, live happily ever after. But the cool part is that it's centered around the 2004 Boston Red Sox World Series in which Boston broke the Curse of the Bambino, and the baseball scenes are actually live scenes from actual games. Now that's pretty cool. It lends some real history to the movie.

Any girl can relate to this story if you've ever dated a sports fanatic. It reminds me of my ex I used to date in Birmingham who was a HUGE Florida State fan as he was an alumni. I distinctly remember the first Saturday of college football game days when we were dating:

ME: It's Saturday. What are we doing today?
HIM: I don't know what YOU are doing, as I know what I'M doing. I'm watching football. You can watch me watch football.
ME: Um....yeah.....no thanks. (Adrienne exits the building.)

Recommendation for you...Taxi (with Jimmy Fallon & Queen Latifah). Saw it a few weeks ago. Loved it! Of course JF was hilarious. I'm a huge QL fan as well.
