Sunday's Movie Review

Saved my indie movie for Sunday morning. I absolutely love culturally diverse films, and Saving Face provided a look into a Chinese family and the traditions that they follow respecting their elders. The plot line goes like this: Mom gets pregnant. Moves in with daughter. Doesn't tell anyone who the father is. Daughter is gay, trying to have a relationship with another woman, but even though Mom "knows" she's gay, she hasn't formally announced it. I wasn't so much into the gay relationship as I was about the 48 year old Mom being pregnant. And when we find out who the father is, it's a real shocker. This movie is also partially sub-titled as it's set in NYC and is spoken in partial English in some scenes, Chinese in others. Again, this movie dealt with relationships within a patriarchal family, and also mother/daughter relationships. Completely enjoyed this and would recommend to any of my friends who aren't afraid of a little lesbian kissing & top nudity bedroom scene.
