Just Super

So tomorrow is THE BIG DAY. Well, not so much for me, but for the Steelers and the Seahawks. And truthfully, I wouldn’t even be watching the game if it weren’t for a Super Bowl Party. (Can I say Super Bowl, or do I need official licensing approval? I can’t remember.) I’m only going because of the junk food, chips, salsa, and everything swimming in cheese. I’m also going so I’ll be cool and trendy and catch all the new commercials. I need to know what the “IN” ad will be. I’m sure one of the best ones will be by Budweiser. I mean, who doesn’t love the Clydesdale horses? They are stunning animals.

So speaking of commercials, I am sitting at home on a Saturday night (not so unusual these days), and I just watched the Top 40 Super Bowl Commercials. So my favorites:

CareerBuilder.com – the children who say what they want to be when they grow up. I crack up every time when the one kid says “I want to work my way up to middle management.” And the other, “I want to be underappreciated.”

Reebok – Terry Tate being the “Office Enforcer”. I love it when the average schmuck gets a “pain cake” for any office infraction. I think I need Terry Tate to enforce the coffeemaker. He should take down anyone who drinks the last cup and doesn’t make more. Wonderful idea.

Xerox – the late 70’s ad where the monk goes to make 500 copies of a transcript he’s supposed to be copying by hand. The copy machine they use from this era looks like it could launch satellites into outer space.

Budweiser – anything Clydesdale. Remember the donkey that got to lead the horses? An ass with heart! And bring out the young colts and my heart just twinges.

Our office coffee maker has a graphic of Terry Tate that someone pasted to it. He's shaking his finger and saying, "YOU KILL THE JO YOU MAKE SOME MO'!"

Pretty motivating, actually.
