Team Habitat

Today I participated in my first Habitat for Humanity volunteer new home construction. I got there today knowing that the jobs of the day were "painting & grading". Never done either. I had marked "inexperienced, but eager to learn" for the painting category. So I felt good today doing a little bit of charity work. The event was from 8am-1:30pm, we left early because the house was almost ready for move-in so the minute details were being done. For the record, I left with a lot more paint on me than I think I put on the outside trim.

So this is my Mother's Day gift. To Joanne from Addie. You taught me that charity is important, and while I cannot give money all the time, I can give my time. I know you are proud.
