I'm taking my first flight to the DC metro area after all the new restrictions have gone into place for what you can and cannot carry-on the plane.
I'm angry about it too. The pinche cabrones (I cannot think of anything BAD enough to call them, so I guess I might just say it in spanish) that caused restructions that prohibit anything with gell or liquids on flights need to die die die - die mother effers - DIE. I cannot take bottled water onto the place. No gel gloss or lip treatments. Thank God I can take Chapstick. No Hand Sanitizer.
It's not that this flight is a burden, but I think about flying overseas. No toothpaste. No hair products. THANK GOD that you can take eye solution, up to 4 ounces on board.
And I'm angry that it's a little more of my liberties, my freedoms, that are being taken away from me by a group of people who absolutely abhor Americans. And we're helpless to stop the acts of violence that they continue to try to perpetrate.

I realize I'm in the minority here, but I don't get all the furor? You're not prevented from packing said items - only from taking them on board. Flight times being what they are, I can go 3-4 hours without lipgloss and hand sanitizer. Water is served on board. On international flights, they provide you with an airline-issued "ditty bag" of goodies when you get on board that includes soap, toothpaste, a toothbrush (albeit sucky one) soap and even cologne! I guess I just don't feel all that inconvenienced because they aren't items I can't do without for a few hours and/or aren't already available to me via the airline once I get onboard.
I get the feeling this is just me, though.
This is more about the taking away of freedoms, not about being inconvenienced. On my trip to London, I never received a nice little goodie bag. And, I can do without lip gloss, it's just that I cannot do without chapstick at the very least, which is not prohibited on board. I prefer to take on bottled water because I can consume it at my leisure, instead of waiting patiently with the others for something to drink. And if I don't hydrate, then I've got a headache. Flying with cabin pressure and a headache just doesn't equal fun. Also, something just a little bit weird to me is that in my American Connections (can you say a step up above puddlejumper?) lavatory, there was antibiotic wipes to use instead of soap & water. Now I don't know if this is going to be common amongst bigger flights and other carriers, but I was a tad bit icked out by it. I know, I know antibiotic , but call me old-fashioned. I'd like to kill the germs with plain ole water.
steph, it's just you.
What can I say - I don't mind traveling light ;). It also sounds like Addie flew a *gasp* DOMESTIC CARRIER to London? There is no worse hell...
