No Bridezilla, this one is not about you this time!
I was talking to one of the Managers in our DC office and we started discussing her upcoming wedding this Saturday. Yes, she’s nervous, tired, ready for it to be done, looking forward to the honeymoon, etc.etc. So I started teasing her about the music such as I’m learning to play Bach’s Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring, and we laughed that the Wedding March really is a dirge. Niiiiice! What a way to start a marriage!
So she gave me some advice (which, I knew that all along) which was never have the groom plan for any part of the wedding. It was all I could do to not say "DUH!" Apparently, she asked him to pick the music, back in January. Now, 5 days before the wedding, he finally “did his part” by giving her a selection of music. She asked for my opinion, since I’ve been in 8 weddings, I have some idea of the musical accompaniment. She started listing songs, and I got on my iTunes playlist to hear some of the songs to get an idea of which ones they were. Then, I realized that the playlist he gave her was from an actual iTunes album: The Brides’ Guide to Wedding Music. CLASSIC! Boy did he look hard for music to be played! But, not to fault him, he did what he was asked!
