2006! Can you actually believe it? It seems that as we get older the years fly by faster. In some cases this past year, it has been a blessing, but yet, in other cases, the good moments were fleeting. Try as I might, I like to enjoy the moment, but oftentimes this year I've felt more like the audience than the participant. Maybe that should be my New Year's Resolution.
To admit to everyone, this is the first year that I've not had my Resolutions prepared, written down, and shared with a formal goal time line for completion. It's not that I haven't thought of it, it's just maybe there are more things I'd like to accomplish this year. Some are personal and others more tangible. And I truly did not want to be a tag on these items because I'm not sure when I'll be able to complete them this year, if at all. I'd consider them more long-term than short-term for 2006.
I spent the first day of 2006 in the company of good friends. Good food, good drink, good environment. That should be an expectation to set for the rest of the year. But on my way back home, as I had plenty of drive time to think and ponder, I did come up with a New Year's Resolution.
I am going to quit biting my fingernails and let them grow out. My goal is to have real, live, honest-to-goodness fingernails by April. I've done this before, I can do it again. Just have to make my mind up to do it.
So what about you? Any Resolutions? If so, please share. They become more "real" when they are written down and you've told someone.
